How to Make Your Own Homemade Facials with Oatmeal

November 1, 2018 By Jackie

There’s no reason to spend money at the spa for a facial that you can make for yourself with ingredients in your kitchen. The best facials use only natural ingredients. Oatmeal is particularly effective at cleansing and moisturizing skin. Oatmeal in commonly used in the making of many body products. Here are a few oatmeal based facials that will help cleanse and moisturize your skin.

First grind up half a cup of dry oatmeal in your coffee grinder or food processor until it is smooth and powder like. Set this powder aside and prepare a separate bowl with a quarter cup of plain yogurt and a few tablespoons of honey. Blend all ingredients into a paste.

Spread the mixture onto your face, taking care to avoid the skin around your eyes. Use a warm wet washcloth to remove this mix after around fifteen minutes. That feels nice now doesn’t it?

The next recipe we have to share includes two tablespoons of cooked oats and a tablespoon or plain unflavored yogurt. Now stir these two together taking care to mash the oats well. The oats should be broken down thoroughly prior to application. If the mixture seems too thick use a bit more yogurt or perhaps some milk to thin it out. Spread onto skin just as you would a cream taking care to avoid your eyes and let sit. Once this mask dries rinse it with warm water. After you’ve completed these steps follow with a good moisturizer.

You can also try dampening three tablespoons of oatmeal with a bit of water and adding two teaspoons of witch hazel. Mix together, then apply to your face with upward, circular motions. Let it sit on your face for a moment or two and then rinse thoroughly with clean water. Pat your face dry with a soft and dry towel.

You probably already have all the ingredients needed to make these recipes. Not only will you save money by making your own facials but you will have beautiful skin. Considering you can get the same results in the comfort of your home, why spend extra money at a spa?

Get Familiar With These Immune System Boosting Superfoods

October 29, 2018 By Jackie

Everybody knows that there are certain key things you must do when you want to stay healthy. Adequate exercise each week is at the top of the list. In order to keep from becoming dehydrated, you must drink adequate amounts of water daily. The foods you eat must be varied and healthful. These are all good ideas, but suppose your immune system needs a power boost? What if you feel a cold coming on? Are there truly foods you can eat – known as “superfoods” – that can help strengthen your immune system? Naturally, there are superfoods that can strengthen your immune system. In this report, we will discuss three of these immune system strengthening superfoods that you can add to your diet.

Turkey, for reasons we’ll explain below, has surfaced as a very powerful superfood for maintaining a strong immune system. Sorry vegans and vegetarians, but this is the truth. There are a lot of different lean meats that we hear about that are good for our health. What makes turkey more important? Simply because it has high glutamine content. Glutamine is something that your white blood cells desperately need to stay healthy. Turkey is also helpful in raising your T cell count. This is a critical factor in maintaining a healthy immune system. The next superfood, which should come as no surprise, is tea. Drinking tea each day will go a long way towards keeping your immune system healthy and vital. One of the major factors in having the best possible health, is to drink enough water each and every day so your body stays hydrated. Your T cells need interferon to maintain their optimum health. Scientific test have concluded that if you drink 20 ounces of tea each and every day, your level of interferon will increase. The interferon encapsulates your T cells to keep them safe when the germs and bacteria that are trying to get you sick start to attack. It’s really not important what kind of tea you drink. However, read about the many delicious herbal teas and take note of the other benefits they offer as well.

Did you know that sunflower seeds can boost your immune system? They are a delicious superfood. Their secret is that they are loaded with Vitamin E. Vitamin E helps your body by keeping your mucous membranes, such as your sinuses, healthy.

When your mucous membranes are healthy and doing their job, they fight infections at their onset. Switch from your normal “junk food” salty snacks to sunflower seeds. They make a great replacement. When you’re making a nice, big salad full of vegetables, increase the protein in the salad by adding the “meat” of the sunflower seeds. A big handful would be nice! It makes sense why sunflower seeds are one of nature’s superfoods for strengthening your immune system.

These are just three of the many superfoods that are beneficial for your immune system. You are no stranger to the types of foods you must eat to maintain your health. It only makes sense to add superfoods to your diet that will keep your immune system strong and healthy, as well. Don’t you agree?

Sports Injury Tips And Tricks

September 15, 2018 By Jackie

You may face a lot of physical and mental stress after sustaining a sports injury. While your doctors can put everything back together, the rest is up to you. If you need to rest, take the time to do that. Too many people re-injure themselves not waiting long enough for injuries to heal. If it’s safe to do light exercises, doing so will help with the mental part of your recovery. You will be making the most of the healing process if you give your body the time it needs to get better.

If you have been playing any type of sport for very long, you may have received an acute traumatic injury on the field. People can receive many types of injuries while playing a variety of sports, one of which, an acute injury, happens because of a single event while playing. These events can shock your system very badly because the event is so traumatic and intense. Due to the possibility of a severe injury, acute traumatic injuries are often severe wherever the harm has occurred. It is often very helpful to speak with your doctor, if possible, but usually the doctor will tell you to follow his or her advice. The worst thing you can do after an incident such as this is to feel sorry for yourself which is not good if you’re trying to get physically better. Those that allow themselves to keep a upward outlook, despite what has happened, will be the first ones to get better.

Treating an injury discreetly is what most proper sports doctors will attempt to do. Just as an example, providing the situation isn’t too serious, your doctor may just suggest ice and rest to reduce any swelling. You may also have to take anti-inflammatory and pain medicine if required. If your injury is more serious you may need other treatments depending on how bad it is. But the early stages of a sports injury are times when you may find it difficult to sit still and rest. You don’t wish to make your injury any worse by being active, which is why you must take it on the chin and rest. Check out The Joint Chiropractic – Cary NC for more tips.

While you’re resting from your injury, need to make a list of things you need to get done. So while you are healing and recovering, you can simply follow your plan of action each and every day. Write down all the things you are able to do. This list has to include a lot of the activities you didn’t have time for prior to the injury. This can be anything from going on a trip, visiting friends, and of course getting a little bit of exercise. The reason you are doing this is to help you not focus on the injury and keep busy. Using the same determination you had for playing sports, you will more than likely do everything that you have written down. It is a very good idea to talk to your doctor about any extra gear recommended to protect yourself and the injured area. Stay focused on getting healed to make sure it occurs in the fastest and most successful way possible.
